Ukraine buys 5,100 anti-tank weapons from German arms firm

The Ukrainian government has bought 5,100 anti-tank weapons from a German arms manufacturer, dpa has learned from Ukrainian government sources following reports in Die Welt and Bild newspapers.

Manufacturer Dynamit Nobel Defence, based in the western German town of Burbach, is supplying RGW90 HH Matador shoulder-launched weapons.

The government in Kiev is paying €25 million for the equipment. As of Saturday, 2,650 of the weapons had reached Ukraine, with the remainder to be delivered in weekly batches until the end of May.
